Today I had a meeting with @Twitch representatives to welcome their decision to join the 🇪🇺 Code of Conduct on countering illegal #onlinehatespeech.
@Twitch is a platform that speaks to younger generations and we count on them to increase awareness about hate speech.

I was honoured to speak at the @VeniceComm plenary session today.
A great occasion to express the @EU_Commission’s high appreciation of the VC’s precious work to protect and promote the #RuleOfLaw in Europe.
We must foster #RuleOfLaw, both within in 🇪🇺 & internationally.
I fully support @UN's decision to establish an International Day of Countering Hate Speech.
The more we learn about hate speech and hate crime as a society, the more chance we have of beating it.

It was interesting to speak to young law students and legal professionals through the European Law Students Association (ELSA) 🇵🇹 about Justice in Europe. We exchanged on access to Justice and 🇪🇺 Justice Scoreboard 2022.
It was a pleasure to exchange with @MathiasCormann, Secretary-General @OECD, on how companies can play a key role in building a sustainable and fair economy #CorporateSustainability
We also discussed international safe data transfers and the EU’s support to Ukraine.
A pleasure to meet Ambassador Gitenstein @USAmbEU. Good discussion on transatlantic cooperation in the field of justice & the protection of #RuleOfLaw. We also exchanged on how to build close coordination to ensure accountability of the aggressor & effective sanctions against 🇷🇺

Very good meeting with @bpkaracsonyg, Mayor of Budapest, and MEP @istvan_ujhelyi.
We discussed the #RuleOfLaw situation in Hungary 🇭🇺 and the correct funding of local authorities.
Thanks to @ACCISeu for allowing me to conclude #2022ACCISConference on powering access to responsible credit. Building trust between consumers & credit operators is key to ensure credits are taken in a responsible manner and core of proposal to review Consumer Credit Directive.
Today I opened the annual High Level Group on combating #hatespeech & #HateCrime
Its effort is essential, it is the link between our work at @EU_Commission and the work in the 🇪🇺Member States to put an end to hate speech and hate crime in practice.

I welcome the political agreement reached by @europarl_en & @EUCouncil on the extension of #EUDCC by one year. As far the epidemiological situation requires it, MS will still be able to rely on this effective tool to control the spread of COVID-19 while safeguarding #freemovement
