At @europarl_en I recalled that parenthood knows no borders.
In December 2022 the @EU_Commission adopted a proposal on the recognition of parenthood between Member States to make this reality a requirement under Union law.

I met with @BeppeSala mayor of Milano to discuss the situation of children with same-sex parents. All children have the same rights without discrimination & are entitled to a continuity of their parenthood in cross-border situations within the Union.

I addressed the #SamiSummit at @europarl_en emphasising the importance of respecting the rights of minorities in the EU, as well as promoting effective, inclusive engagement with indigenous people as we develop EU policies affecting the Arctic.

I discussed with @EPSocialAffairs MEPs the @EU_Commission’s proposal for an EU Disability Card which will be recognized in all member states. It will be an important step in reducing uncertainties for people with disabilities when they travel within the EU.

Today, I participated in a structured dialogue with @EPSocialAffairs. We discussed @EU_Commission’s Disability Employment Package which improves hiring perspectives, provides guidance on reasonable accommodation, and encourages the greater inclusion of people with disabilities.

I discussed with @EP_GenderEqual Committee about the two proposals to set binding standards to strengthen the role and independence of equality bodies, adopted by the @EU_Commission in December. They will play an integral role in enabling a #UnionofEquality.

Today, I participated in a wide-ranging exchange of views with @EP_GenderEqual. I informed the committee about @EU_Commission efforts to establish a network on the prevention of gender-based violence and to work with internet platforms to tackle online violence against women.

At a conference at @europarl_en I raisedawareness about the increasing threat faced by women politicians. Misogyny and cyber violence have no place in our politics or in our democracies. @EU_Commission remains committed to tackling all forms of gender-based violence.

Ahead of the European #DiversityMonth, I met with @MiebachMichael and #MarkBarnett from @Mastercard to discuss how the @EU_Commission Diversity Charters can benefit private sector companies and promote diversity and inclusion in ways which better represent our Union.

I spoke at the opening of the 2023 EU Anti-Racism and Diversity Week at @europarl_en where I emphasized the urgent need to combat discrimination in all its forms. I further reiterated my call for all EU countries to adopt national anti-racism action plans.
