The UK is ready to join the #PESCO project Military Mobility. As coordinator, the Netherlands should now invite the UK as soon as possible. The project should create a new dynamic for post-Brexit defence relations with the UK. 🇪🇺🤝🇬🇧

Looking ahead at the EU-#WesternBalkan Summit on 6 December, Ministers also reiterated their unwavering support for a swift EU integration of the entire region conditional upon urgent political and socio-economic reforms.

The Russian aggression against #Ukraine dominated the discussion. Ministers agreed to support the launch of the EU Military Training Mission for Ukrainian soldiers which can now begin. The EU will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Today we also adopted the Network and Information Security Directive with a broad majority. This is the right political signal for the security of our #digitalinfrastructure is a basic prerequisite for a functioning economy and society.

For years, Europe had a blind spot in dealing with state subsidies. Today, we finally adopted an instrument that will enable us to better control third-country subsidies that distort #competition in the EU's #internalmarket. The instrument will take effect in mid-2023.

Today we debated the results of the @EUCouncil Session held on 20 & 21 October together with @vonderleyen . The decisions adopted regarding the joint purchase of gas still lack clarity and precision. The @EU_Commission must begin its work in drafting a pragmatic proposal.
