We have achieved big progress on recycling & we can only target higher.
Now we can step up: preventing waste, reusing our precious resources will help our companies become more competitive & greener.

My first official visit to Italy started in Rome.
Not in one of its thousands beautiful spots but in Europe’s biggest landfill, Malagrotta - now closed.
Italy & Rome have accomplished huge progress in waste management & fighting pollution.

Portugal 🇵🇹 has a strong #BlueEconomy sector that is growing fast.
Today we sign Growth Blue I, the 1st #InvestEU fund focusing on the sector in Southern Europe!
With @EIF_EU we start with EUR 28 million & aiming at 50 for a big boost.

Looking at all these “eco”, “carbon neutral” tags on products makes us wonder 🤔
Are they really true?
More than 50% of green claims in the EU are misleading or unfounded.

✔️ improve their quality & make them more resilient to climate change

Healthy forests mean clean air & water, fertile soils, a regulated climate.
Today they face huge challenges that our #EUForests Strategy & Nature Restoration Law can resolve.
