Keeping in touch w/h citizens
I'm always pleased to welcome guests interested in 🇪🇺 politics in Strasbourg. This week, in addition to the busy plenary session, I was able to show my visitors from 🇭🇺 around the EP and speak to them about our work as MEPs with @BalazsHidveghi.
I asked the @EU_Commission to promote European #competitiveness instead of pushing for legislation loaded with ideology.
#Europe is no longer the center of the world. Instead of imposing further burdens on companies' shoulders, we need to provide new opportunities for them.
We should do our utmost that trade agreements with Mercosur, Mexico and Chile enter into force asap.
For the @europarl_en nothing is ever enough. Instead of sanctions and conditions we need respect and dialogue vis-à-vis our trading partners.
Many of our GI producers are #SMEs, so our aim with this revision is to simplify the rules, shorten the registration procedures and to improve the protection of GI products inside and outside the EU.
