Spent the day in Resen, on Lake Prespa. Useful discussions with Mayor Tozievski, t/ Municipal Council, CSOs & citizens. We talked about EU's special programme, EU for Prespa. Listened to local concerns including the huge challenges apple farmers faced with loss of export markets.

Yesterday, 🇲🇰 signed off an agreement with the World Bank supporting agriculture & safe food production. This includes a loan, complementing an EU €4,5 million grant for the country's first rendering plant, ensuring safe & environmentally-conscious disposal of animal byproducts.

Local authorities will have a key role in implementing 🇪🇺 standards in the area of the environment in 🇲🇰. Through a partnership with Ljubljana 🇸🇮, Aerodrom is leading the way on solid waste management and can serve as an example to others.

Wanting to recycle paper, plastic & metal? And make Skopje a cleaner city? With EU support, residents of Aerodrom will be able to do exactly that. Vending machines will be rolled out across the municipality in partnership w/ recycling companies, making recycling just a step away!
