As Russia continues its war of aggression, we are stepping up our support to Ukraine.

Under #rescEU we are providing emergency shelter in the Rivne, Bucha and Kharkiv regions.
 
We will also provide a further €175 million in humanitarian aid to help get through the winter.

We proposed a strong legal package to address the energy crisis:

•Pooling - with joint purchase of gas at EU level
•Saving energy
•Sharing gas and showing solidarity across the EU
•Price mechanisms to address spikes

Taming gas price volatility and spikes:

The current pricing benchmark is no longer adapted to a market that is shifting from pipeline gas to LNG.

We will develop a new benchmark and put in place a mechanism to limit excessive gas prices in the meantime.

Pooling, saving and sharing of gas:

• We will make joint purchasing operational with new legal tools

• Keep on saving energy

• Establish default rules on solidarity among 🇪🇺 countries. They will apply in case of disruption when there is no bilateral agreement in place.
