The memory of the communist crimes committed in Europe is an important part of the historical identity of Europe.

Unfortunately, public awareness of Soviet crimes is lacking in countries not affected by Soviet terror. 2/5

Deportations have returned to Europe. Putin’s Russia is committing the same crimes in Ukraine as Soviet Russia used to commit.

We must evaluate the crimes of the largest totalitarian regimes of the 20th century if we want to end this vicious cycle. 3/5

Over 100 people from various countries registered to attend the ceremony tomorrow.

It’s incredibly moving that so many people will come to pay their respects. 4/5

I am especially grateful to @EP_President @RobertaMetsola who supported this initiative from the start and who will host the ceremony tomorrow. 5/5
