Today is another historic moment for women’s rights: the formal signing of the EU #PayTransparency Directive. Transparency is a key step towards closing the #GenderPayGap & making the principle of equal pay for equal work/work of equal value a reality for all women and men.

For #EuropeDay, I joined DotEU ITW to discuss the European Year of Skills & about increasing the participation of women in STEM. Through updated funding guidelines for @HorizonEU and initiatives such as @CodeWeekEU, we can accelerate women’s leadership in STEM fields.

I addressed a conference organised by @MFETMalta and Maltese Permanent Representation to the @coe on the role of men and boys in combatting violence against women. Gender mainstreaming actions and challenging gender stereotypes through education is key.

#UNCRPD came into force 15 years ago. With our #EUDisabilityRights strategy we are working to ensure equal opportunities, inclusion and participation for persons with disabilities. I look forward to address #COSP16 at @UN in June on EU implementation of the #UNCRPD.
