This will:
☑️protect 🇪🇺 consumers against dangerous products
☑️ensure a level playing field & provide clear rules for all companies

Climate action requires joint actions that go beyond the basic legal requirements. Companies must have an active role to play.

I was also pleased to launch the EU’s Sustainable Consumption Pledge with 8 companies that are leading the way towards a sustainable future.

Since 2018, #EUSafetyPledge has helped improve the way companies can proactively search for unsafe product listing and act to protect 🇪🇺 consumers.

Yesterday, 11 companies decided to step up their initial commitments and signed up to the #EUSafetyPledge Plus. Congratulations!

Over 500 people joined the 2023 #EUConsumerSummit 🇪🇺

This only shows how important consumer policy is.

It was a real honour to open this day and vibrant event to reflect on we can collectively reinforce the future of consumers’ rights.

#EUConsumerSummit was the opportunity to meet with the 🇸🇪🇪🇸🇧🇪🇭🇺Ministers or Secretaries in charge of consumer protection to share views on common priorities for the next year and a half.

Today I was back before @EP_SingleMarket to present the legislative proposal tabled by the Commission last week to promote repair and reuse in 🇪🇺. We aim to promote sustainable consumption & reinforce transparency & competition on the repair market to the benefit of consumers
