RT @rtenews: The European Commissioner for Justice has met Twitter representatives in Dublin amid concerns that staff cuts and resignations will impact the company's ability to comply with EU regulations | https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2022/1124/1337946-commissioner-visit-dublin/
In Dublin, I visited the @Meta’s 🇪🇺 HQ.
I asked information on the company’s future developments, also in relation with compliance with EU rules.
We discussed the worrying results of the Code of Conduct against #HateSpeech and the next steps of the🇪🇺🇺🇸 Data Privacy Framework.
It was a pleasure to meet with staff members @DPCIreland 🇮🇪 and congratulate them for their dedication to apply EU data protection rules thoroughly.
We exchanged on the challenges they face while handling cases and the ways to overcome them.
Thank you for your commitment.
Productive meeting with Helen Dixon @DPCIreland on the efficient enforcement of #GDPR in Ireland and cross-border cases.
We talked about the ways to improve enforcement by harmonising national procedures and international data transfers.
RT @EU_Commission: Women’s.
Rights.
Are.
Not.
Negotiable.
🟠 Today our Commissioners joined the #OrangeTheWorld initiative to say a loud and clear no to violence against women and girls.
We will continue to work tirelessly to end this scourge that affects 1 in 3 women in the EU.
I was pleased to open the #ConsumerDialogue in Dublin 🇮🇪 together with State Min. @daracalleary.
Today’s dialogue will bring important & timely exchanges of views on how to empower consumers in the green & digital transition, and to protect consumers’ rights at times of crisis.
Very good meeting with 🇮🇪 Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation @daracalleary. We discussed about consumers’ protection in the digital age and green transition, the state of play of #CSDD proposal, how to protect 🇪🇺 consumers in the energy crisis.
During #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday, a reminder to make full use of your #EUConsumerRights when purchasing products or services.
Read the terms & conditions for deals carefully!

RT @EU_Commission: Today is the International Day to End Violence Against Women.
We are wearing orange to recall one simple message:
violence against women has no place in the EU, or the world.

It is disappointing that most of IT companies taking part in EU Code of Conduct have slowed down their responses to notifications of #OnlineHateSpeech.
I urge them to look at their content moderation practices & address the gaps shortly. #NoPlace4Hate

The recent layoffs @Twitter and today’s results of the Code of Conduct against #HateSpeech are a source of concern.
In my meeting at Twitter’s 🇪🇺 HQ, I underlined that we expect Twitter to deliver on their voluntary commitments and comply with EU rules, including #GDPR & #DSA.
It was a pleasure to meet with 🇮🇪 Justice Minister @HMcEntee & State Minister @JamesBrowneTD.
We discussed shared priorities for 🇪🇺 justice: #EAW, relations with @EUProsecutor, justice cooperation instruments & recent developments in Big Tech companies.
Grateful for the fruitful exchange of views with members of the 🇮🇪 Oireachtas Committee on 🇪🇺 Affairs on the findings of the 2022 #RuleOfLaw Report, the enforcement of the EU sanctions and confiscation of frozen assets, cooperation with @EUProsecutor, and data protection.
EU Code of Conduct on illegal #OnlineHateSpeech
2022 evaluation report shows:
☹️Most IT companies ➡️ slowdown on removal & review times for hate speech notifications
🙂All of them ➡️ improved frequency & quality of feedback to users flagging hateful content

It was a pleasure to take part in the Commission Citizens’ Energy Forum in Dublin 🇮🇪 @Energy4Europe
I reaffirmed our 🇪🇺 determination to bring specific additional support to all #consumers that are facing unprecedented challenges in the midst of the energy crisis.
Productive start of the visit with civil society organisations. We exchanged on how we can work together to address more effectively the spread of hate speech/crime on online platforms. I underlined the Commission will make sure that companies’ commitments are fully respected.
