I initiated a debate in @europarl_en on the case of Bishop Ronaldo Alvarez whose arbitrary arrest by the 🇳🇮 regime I strongly condemn.
It reminds me of the cases of Bishop Čule and Cardinal Stepinac, both imprisoned for defending the freedom of belief.

Tonight at the @europarl_en plenary session, I presented the @EPPGroup @EPCulture 📄 on the #NewEuropeanBauhaus.
The #NEB offers safe, sustainable and innovative construction ideas that will protect citizens in natural and man-made disasters, and preserve our cultural heritage.
Our security and stability depends on that of our neighbourhood. This also counts for the EU’s south. It is in the interest of the 🇪🇺 to invest with its partners in the prosperity of the #Mediterranean countries. This mitigates #migration and improves social-economic standards.
I strongly condemn the grave military confrontation between Azerbaijan and Armenia last night. These actions should cease immediately. I call on both countries to resume diplomatic dialogue and, as agreed in Brussels recently, to start the work on a sustainable peace treaty.
