Met with Prime Minister Madbouly and other Egyptian ministers today in Cairo to discuss Mediterranean Green #Hydrogen Partnership and additional LNG-supplies. We agreed to move fast to expand 🇪🇺-🇪🇬 cooperation on climate action and the clean energy transition.

We cannot not allow any country to weaponise its energy resources. We should stay on track and accelerate the clean energy transition: diversify sources, improve energy efficiency, and introduce renewables.

As a first step, countries need to bring their NDCs in line with the 1.5°C goal before #COP27 in Egypt. And all countries should work to implement their targets and set in motion the steep emissions reductions we need this decade. Ambition is not enough; only action counts.

Russia is always adamant to cultivate the image of a “civilised country”. The images from Bucha show a level of unforgivable barbarism that defy the very concept of “civilised”. The butchers of Bucha and their bosses should be tried for the war crimes they have committed.
