Today I chaired the @EPPGroup meeting in which we had Anna Sofia Puzanova, daughter of paramedic captured by Russian forces near Mariupol.
I told her that we, EPP Group, #standwithUkraine - full support for #Ukraine & the Ukrainian people, toughest sanctions for #Russia.
I spoke today about opportunities for SMEs within the framework of the #Recovery & #Resilience Facility at event by @europarl_en Intergroup on SMEs.
SMEs are an essential part of our economies and must be supported, especially in the context of the war in #Ukraine.
#Romania stands by the side of #Ukraine.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca visiting #Kiyv tonight and meeting President #Zelensky.
We will provide all help to stop the illegal and immoral Russian aggression.

The Republic of #Moldova completed today the first questionnaire on #EU membership application, just 11 days after it was handed over by the @EU_Commission. This shows the willingness of the Moldovan authorities to work hard and fast towards EU integration.

Very big majority now in the European Parliament for the amendment calling for immediate ban on imports of oil, coal AND GAS from Russia.

We, @europarl_en, have just adopted by large majority the resolution on an immediate embargo on Russian oil, gas, nuclear fuel & coal, with 513 in favour, 19 abstentions and 22 against. 1/2
I have just voted in @europarl_en to impose an immediate full embargo on oil, coal, nuclear fuel & gas from #Russia.
#EU pays Russia up to €800 mln a day for the supply of fossil fuels - almost €300 bln a year. This embargo is necessary to stop financing the war in #Ukraine.
Conclusions of the 1️⃣1️⃣ meeting of the #EU–#Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee in #Strasbourg 🇪🇺🇲🇩:
1⃣ We call on European institutions to work towards granting EU candidate status to Moldova & accelerate the Moldova #EUSingleMarket gradual integration.
The EU must react immediately to the massacre of civilians in #Bucha & to all Russian war crimes in Ukraine: TOTAL embargo on Russian energy imports in #EU, exclusion of ALL Russian banks from SWIFT, ban Russia from European ports.
