Russia’s war against Ukraine increased the risks for the EU critical infrastructure.
We must protect it by accelerating the work on preparedness, response and international cooperation.
Our Recommendation starts with
⚡️energy
💻digital infrastructure
🌐transport and space
By addressing all dimensions of the energy market, we are giving EU a solid foundation to face the challenges ahead.
There will be no overnight fix to the energy crisis fuelled by Russian aggression, but we are ensuring that EU is prepared to protect our citizens & industries.
Today @EU_Commission is proposing a new emergency regulation to address high gas prices & ensure security of supply.
This will be done through:
➡️joint gas purchasing
➡️price limiting mechanisms
➡️transparent infrastructure use
➡️solidarity between MS
➡️reduction of gas demand
We have prepared well for the winter ahead, achieving over 92% filling of our gas storage, saving energy, and finding new suppliers.
Now we have to tackle volatile prices and insecurity on gas markets ⤵️

Thanks to all of you who came. Glad to meet many new faces.
Let’s make this a regular thing!
Next Friday perhaps ?
RT @vonderleyen: My thoughts are with the families of the victims of the shooting in Bratislava.
These abhorrent murders are a threat to our societies built on respect and tolerance.
The EU is committed to helping fight hate crime and speech in all form.
We must protect the LGBTIQ community.
