Today is #WorldAIDSDay. We need to end the stigma and invest in prevention and treatment. I am supporting these 5 policy recommendations and call for action by @ViiVHC. They are based on a new policy manifesto launched today and coauthored by experts and civil society voices.

Today marks 30 years since I was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a TD for Dublin South-East in the general election of 1992.

Every 10 years a city the size of Marseille, Amsterdam, or Zagreb disappears from the world. It is estimated that 87,000 women worldwide are being killed each year just because they are women: this is femicide. These figures are staggering.

We are in the midst of a shadow pandemic where sexual violence, domestic violence and FGM are commonplace in all our societies across Europe.
