I welcome the fact that cities and regions were recognised as "instrumental to broaden climate action and respond to #ClimateChange" in #COP27 conclusions, however I reiterate my call for their formal inclusion in the @UNFCCC process. @trzaskowski_ @EU_CoR

Local & regional authorities set ambitious goals for climate neutrality transforming local communities into sustainable, healthy & attractive places to live. Hence cities and regions need direct & fast-track access to EU funding via the #REPowerEU and #RRF. @trzaskowski_ @EU_CoR

We need examples on why we are dealing with soil, water & air quality to empower local action. We also need info on financing linked to #EUMissions to show that it is possible to achieve #ZeroPollution and to address these challenges at the local/regional level. @mmarkkula

I organised in @Miasto_Lodz a ‘Round Table on Energy’ to discuss the most urgent and needed changes as well as best practices to solve energy problems of local and regional authorities (LRAs). I encourage LRAs in other EU cities and regions to organise similar meetings. @EU_CoR

Damage caused by wildlife & attacks on humans, create a constant fear amongst local communities. We need to establish a common understanding on the impact that over-protection can have when it becomes uncontrollable. This needs to remain on the @EU_CoR's agenda. @borbolycsaba
