From EPP to extreme Left there is only one aim: to deprive HU from all EU funds, independently of whether it fulfills all the criteria negotiated with COM for a responsible way of handling the money.
11th HU debate today during the present mandate of this Parliament and nothing new under the Sun.
We should not delegate governments' responsabilities to companies! #duediligence
Heated debate on #CSDD today at @EP_Economics. I called for common sense. In the midst of Covid, war, skyrocketing energy prices & inflation we shouldn't overburden our companies with excessive expectations & liability for things beyond their control.
Concerning #PFOF, we must stay firm on the ban, as it protects the interest of the investors. Brokers should not be financially influenced by trading venues!
Great debate on MiFID/MiFIR in @EP_Economics. I called for caring about the smaller #stockexchanges. For them trade of data is an important source of income, therefore the COM's proposal (by making that free) would put these smaller stock exchanges into competitive disadvantage.
We shall resist all attacks by extremists of cancel culture even in the wine sector.
European winemakers have to stick together in order to resist the new waves of ideologies. There is no scientific study proving that moderate wine drinking while eating would make any harm to health. Wine is part of our #European culture!
We have to teach the youth the moderate consumption and how to enjoy it. Meanwhile, let's open our ears to their wishes.
Producers need to move along their costumers’ needs in terms of variety, alcohol degree and packaging.
Extreme weather conditions are the new normal. Drought, heat, freeze, declining cropland. Both the wine sector and the regulations have to adapt to these circumstances.
Speaking regularly to winemakers I came to the conclusion, there are 3 main challenges regarding the sector:
1) Social challenges
2) Sustainanibility and climate change
3) Attention to changing
consumers’ habits
The Hungarian Winemakers’ National Council is holding its 25th anniversary conference today. In the afternoon I will also participate in the discussion about the challenges of the European grape and wine sector. Stay tuned!
At the initiative of my Spanish fellow MEP @Jorgebuxade, we have written a letter to @vonderleyen von der Leyen. We must not allow the memory of the tens of millions of victims of #Communism and the totalitarian dictatorship that evolved afterwards to be desecrated.
Never again #communism!
In the socialist-communist-led #Spain, the state-owned postal service has announced that it will issue a commemorative #stamp to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Spanish Communist Party.
“A strong Europe needs strong business”
An important message from President @vonderleyen @EU_Commission in her opening address at #EBS2022.
Smart worrds, but COM should demonstrate it really wants to go to that direction. #CSRD and #duediligence are not very good examples.

According to most predictions, Brussels sanctions could push European economies into crisis next year. HU will continue to work to counteract the adverse international effects to protect the economy from a downturn.
#Growth has been underpinned by the creation of 1 million new jobs since 2010 and HU #unemployment remains one of the lowest in the EU.
The HU economy grew by 4.1% in Q3, exceeding expectations. This is one of the best performances among 🇪🇺 MSs, showing that the 🇭🇺 economy is resilient to the adverse effects of #war & #sanctions.
