We have also been discussing the Global Pandemic Preparedness Fund.

The EU pledged $450 million to support the setup of the fund.

Two takeaways:

1 - local vaccine production capacity is key.

#TeamEurope invests €1 billion in Africa for this and supports Latin American partners.

We repurposed €300 million of EU funds, from vaccine purchase to support for vaccination.

Climate change affects us all. So we must maintain our ambitious climate goals. This requires close, inclusive international coordination.

Renewables will play a key role in ensuring both ambition and security of supply.
