And I limited it to this issue, because I do occasionally call out mansplaining when I'm subjected to it.
@orlaighcorr24 I have already explained why I wouldn't be there. As Justice Minister, I cannot interfere or comment on any aspect of a live court case or police investigation: that includes a coroner's inquest. To do so could jeopardise the inquest and any potential prosecution flowing from it.

@G99____ @SPENCE_JOHN @nadhimzahawi @hmtreasury However, there are families who don't really need it to make ends meet. That's the reality of a universal payment. As one of those people, I'd rather it went to those more in need. Not sure this is as radical an idea as you seem to think.

They will receive money: my point is those in most need could receive more if people not in need weren't getting a share of it.
Anyway, that chance of targeting is gone anyway.

The question now is when: there's no Executive to do it and Westminster haven't figured out how they can.

As someone who is on a good salary, we can probably manage without the £400: I'd rather see it going to those for whom £400 won't be enough, that's all.

I've simply said that, had we had an Executive since May, my preference would have been to use the money to target those most in need, which we would have had time to do.

Unlike in GB, energy here is devolved and we're part of a separate market: it can't be done as simply.
