@ShimanoSteve @Sustrans @lambeth_council @SocEnvJustice @activetraveleng The studies weren't funded by sustrans. And I don't agree with the policies of sustrans. But the findings are that everyone benefits in an LTN. Business, active travellers, car drivers, bus travellers, children, the elderly, the disabled. Everyone.

@ShimanoSteve @Sustrans @lambeth_council @SocEnvJustice @activetraveleng The studies found that traffic was reduced on the roads to which it would have been displaced, contrary to the expectations of the anti LTN lobby.

@ShimanoSteve @Sustrans @lambeth_council @SocEnvJustice @activetraveleng The studies quoted are independent academic studies using proper sampling, not interest groups.

@ShimanoSteve Look at any of the research and you will find it is so. Beware of a tiny lobby group that is campaigning against them, along with covid vaccines, lockdowns and climate action.

@ShimanoSteve LTN schemes were excluded, even if they benefitted the community as a whole. Which they typically do.

RT @JunagarhMedia: This is what we should be doing but the problem is that it will save individuals money but cost fossil fuel corporations dearly and we know what happens when profits are at stake. Our politics is owned by these people so we need change. t.co/wjmnCH2xpp

RT @John_On_Climate: @catherinerowett Billions are only being spent on carbon capture so the fossil fuel industry can continue making trillions, while pretending that they are doing something to reduce emissions.

RT @mrjamesob: If you really don’t want to answer questions about ministers breaking the ministerial code, don’t appoint ministers who have broken the ministerial code. Seems pretty straightforward.

@DavidRobjant You might also like a dialogue I've written with Rupert Read in which I try to take the side of the "green growth is possible" thinker. "Published" here: (the publication is rubbish but it's all there is at present. I might put it on academia.) rupertread.net/wp-content/uplo

Does economic growth help or harm our quality of life?

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

@DavidRobjant The myth that this is dependent on growth is peddled by the wealthy because they want the cost to be borne by the workers. That's destructive as all economists now realise, but the rich control the media.
