6/7 The General Affairs Council would function as the legislative Council meeting in public, similar to the EP plenary sessions.

7/7 The remaining Council configurations would operate as transparent preparatory structures, similar to the functioning of committees in the EP.

In the short term, scrap the 🇭🇺 presidency altogether and divide it among Spain & Belgium.

5/7 In the long term, we should scrap the 🔄 presidency altogether & turn the Council configurations into a single entity presided by the EUCO president.

We voted today in the European Parliament to reconsider Hungary’s ability to assume the rotating presidency of the Council. Orban cannot perform such a role on behalf of the Union and the EP cannot engage with an autocratic leader.
