Today in @EP_HumanRights, @EU_Commission suggested that it always conducts impact assessments and guarantees human rights monitoring for migration projects in third countries.

Despite a clear condemnation by the Court of Justice last year, the Lithuanian Parliament adopted a bill to legalise pushbacks and allow armed citizens to commit these crimes as well. I urge the Commission to stop these violations and ensure access to protection.

While migrants are subject to grave human rights violations, some of my @EPPGroup colleagues call for solidarity. But not with migrants.

Their solidarity entails fences, deterrence and the criminalisation of humanitarian aid.

That is not solidarity, but being partners in crime.
