After #PutinWarCriminal invaded #Ukraine , oil went to $130 a barrell & prices at our pumps soared beyond €1.20 per litre. Today , oil is cheaper than before the war,( $95). When will we see that reflected in the pumps? 🤷

A pleasure to attend the first shadows meeting of the Energy Performance of Building Directive, hosted by @ciarancuffe.
Without addressing buildings, we will not be able to reach our energy efficiency and renewable energy objectives.

The fact is the UK have not exactly been forthright throughout this process. The EU must ensure it has the tools at its disposal to protect the provisions in the #WithdrawalAgreement and #TCA
However, any counter measure must be proportionate and backed by evidence and data.

The Northern Ireland Protocol Bill breaches international law. It is a shame to say it, but the reality is that the UK Government has become an unreliable partner. It is pivotal that the EU has all necessary enforcement tools going forward. 🧵1/7

Selling excess generation is not only a new source of revenue for farmers, but there are also considerable societal benefits.

Very positive to see that #farmers will now be able sell electricity back to the grid.
Unused roofs on farmlands have thus far been an untapped resource, but now we should see a real drive for #solar energy production by farmers.
