Last week I met with @RainsySam, leader of Cambodia's democratic opposition. We managed to get the crackdown political opposition in 🇰🇭 on @europarl_en's agenda this week.

The EU will be closely watching the upcoming elections in Cambodia and any deterioration of human rights.

Questions are mounting about where China procures organs used for transplants.

The harrowing suspicion is that China is carrying out forced organ harvesting on prisoners, esp. from minority groups.

The EU embargo on Russian oil is welcome and it will hit the Russian Federation hard.

But we need to do more to stop Putin's war crimes.

A full embargo on Russian energy imports is needed, including gas, in addition to very stringent sanctions.

Reducing our energy usage is the surest way to insulate us from rising gas and oil prices.

The government should develop an "Energy Conservation Guidance" for businesses, industry and households so that they can prepare for the winter ahead and improve energy efficiency. 5/5

For projects we can afford no delays, it is imperative that An Bord Pleanála and @EirGrid have all the resources they need to process license and permits.

Biogas, a clean, renewable, and reliable source of energy that can be used as a source peak power to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, while also helping the green transition of the #agricultural sector.

The technology is there and commercially available, but we need to significantly ramp up deployment.

This means installing #heat pumps wherever possible and further utilization of #solar generation. Esp unused rooftops on farmlands are a resource that remains untapped. 2/5
