As General Rapporteur for the 2024 EUbudget, I see the consequences of a very tight Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Clearly, the @europarl_en demands for an MFF that accounts for unforeseen situations were justified, and it was a mistake to adopt such a limiting MFF. 1/2

Security and defence, the Neighbourhood, and other essential programmes have no budgetary room for manoeuvre. We will have to work together with the @EU_Commission to adjust the MFF to provide financial stability until the end of 2027. 2/2l
