@MMC_Shepherd @TopHatIO Impressive Andrew. Are the modular units timber framed? @TimberDevUK

@JoeGiddings4 Energy needed to make the steel but also to transport it. Have transport costs for steel risen more than for wood given steel considerably heavier?

RT @ShaunSpiers1: On insulation, withdrawing support in 2012 means millions of people can't afford to heat their homes now. Not so trivial. Ditching the zero carbon target for new homes in 2015 was similarly foolish. It's complacency, not "net zero groupthink" that's costing us. 2/2

In comments to Danish news Ritzau, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod called it a "disgrace" Russian tourists can sunbathe in Europe while Ukrainian cities are being "bombed beyond recognition."

Failing water companies should be compelled to refer to themselves as ‘Poo companies’ (which is technically accurate) until they improve their game.

@OnfromGambier @andyheald @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG Difficult, as I understand, to get renewable electricity to reach high enough temperatures. Steel making has the same problem.

@OnfromGambier @andyheald @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG Yes, supplying the heat to melt the rock/stone can only be achieved by burning fossil fuel, say gas or oil. Additionally rock wool does not store carbon unlike wood.

@JohnRussell40 @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG Yes it is. You take rock and melt it at 1,500 degrees Celsius by burning a fossil fuel. It therefore has a very high level of embodied energy. It’s ‘based’ on burning fossil fuels.

@Barbara40592522 @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG Agree & would hopefully increase wool’s value which is currently pathetically low. That said wool doesn’t store carbon, however it’s flexible nature means good for specific insulation tasks.

Insulating properly 19million homes is the correct strategy but we must use nature based materials such as wood fibre, hemp etc to do so, not fossil fuel based materials like rock wool which currently dominate the market @SueHayman1 @Ed_Miliband @Keir_Starmer @James_BG

RT @kajakallas: Stop issuing tourist visas to Russians. Visiting #Europe is a privilege, not a human right. Air travel from RU is shut down. It means while Schengen countries issue visas, neighbours to Russia carry the burden (FI, EE, LV – sole access points). Time to end tourism from Russia now
