Does anyone have any figures/research for what % of the reduction in C02 emissions from insulating a house is then 'lost' if the materials used are high in embodied carbon, as per most insulation materials? (But not nature based ones.)

@GreenAcres_Farm @WoodlandTrust Any conifers in the mix or only native deciduous? I’m a life member of the Woodland Trees but find their apparent refusal to plant conifers a bit baffling when we are in the midst of a climate crisis. They were planting Scots Pine outside the EU Parliament in Strasbourg today.

Sweden exports more timber to the UK than to any other country in the world. Plenty of opportunity to increase UK timber production without decreasing food production with agroforestry being central to this approach.
