The new instrument will ensure that:
✔️the free movement of goods, services and people is preserved, and
✔️crisis-relevant goods and services are available in times of crisis
Crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic can disrupt the normal functioning of the #SingleMarket and the 🇪🇺 economy
This is why today the @EU_Commission presents a Single Market Emergency Instrument to make sure the EU is better prepared to face possible emergencies in the future 🚨
This includes:
🔹 a suspension of 65% of the commitments for three operational programmes under cohesion policy
🔹 no new legal commitments for public interests trusts
