Why is so very little being said and done about the attacks on #Somaliland? As if we haven’t got enough problems in the world already. We should be encouraging stability in the Horn of Africa, not ignoring this escalation in violence. The international community must act fast.

Home from a night in London with my wife. Spent today showing her some of the tourist spots that, Londoners like me, often take for granted. Including the magnificent, but not so well known .@CWGC Tower Hill Memorial. A magnificent tribute to those lost in our Merchant Navy.

Very sad to hear about Jimmy Carter, who, since the end of his presidency some 41 years ago, has devoted himself to charity work and good causes. No hype or ego around him. Just a thoroughly decent human being. May his final days be as comfortable as possible.

Just heard that #Bermondsey legend Victor sadly passed away. He tapped me for many a few quid & hundreds of cups of tea in the old days down East Lane. One of South London’s finest old characters. If you knew ‘the phantom raspberry blower’ then you knew Victor. Bless him. #RIP

Lovely to get out #metaldetecting today with my old club, for the first time in ages. I even managed to get my ‘Jack Russell fix’, courtesy of one of the club members. I found a few old buttons and a Georgian coin, but it was great to blow away a few cobwebs on a Sunday morning.

Last week was tough, but I was privileged to give the eulogy at my best mate’s funeral. However, the choice of music was superb - He came into the chapel to ‘Going Underground’ by the Jam, and we left to ‘End of the Line’ by The Travelling Wilburys. Rest in peace ‘Rockin Phil’.

Seeing #ozzyosbourne’s decision to stop touring reminds me of my late wife Carmen’s claim to fame. Her uncle David Hemming was @OzzyOsbourne’s road manager in the early days. As a little girl, she was a friend of his son Elliot & would sit on Ozzy’s knee playing farmyard animals.
