Re @JohnJames67878 @europeangreens @greenparty_ie @GreensEFA Hi John thanks for the comment. Put simply - they are not allowed. EU countries require restrictive and expensive visas for most people on earth. The only way for most people to get to Europe is deadly routes like this. We need more safe and legal routes, not walls and fences.

Re @AengusByrne @irishexaminer @pippa_hackett @offalycoco @visitoffaly @Failte_Ireland @ciaranmullooly Love it 🙌 Banagher outdoor pool is a model for riverside towns all over Ireland and could be replicated affordably by local authorities across the country!

@JaneCStout @noonan_malcolm Thank you for your efforts! Honoured to be one those MEPs voting in support of the Nature Restoration Law on Thursday in ENVI Committee. It may be very close though if @EPPGroup and @RenewEurope do not vote with the science.

On Thursday, the EU Parliament's Environment Committee decides if it will take action to stop the Europe-wide collapse in biodiversity, or if we will bury our heads in the bog, so to speak🌱

This week we vote on the Nature Restoration Law. I know how I'm voting.

I wrote this for the Examiner last week as we celebrated World Ocean Day.

We could be on the cusp of doing something pretty spectacular with our marine space in this decade, totally reimagining our relationship with our seas and oceans.

@brianlenehan @Greenpeace @GreenpeaceEU @GreensEFA @greenparty_ie Hi Brian, thanks for the comment. Here is me climbing the anchor chain of a Russian warship in 1989. The 'Nuclear Free Seas' campaign targeted all nuclear powers in the Mediterranean.

Delighted to see discourse around public outdoor swimming facilities growing.

For too long we have turned our backs on our water bodies.

Cleaning them up and giving people safe access across the country should be a priority for councils and communities
