Update on Ukraine: In July, slightly more Ukrainians exited towards 🇺🇦 (1.17 million) than entered the 🇪🇺
In total, 7.6 million Ukrainians have entered in the EU from 🇺🇦 and 🇲🇩 since February.

Our #StandingCorps officers were on a patrol at the Greek-Turkish border when they spotted a small fire in the forest.
They acted swiftly and put out the flames using fire extinguishers they had in the patrol car, doing a small part towards fighting the wildfires burning in 🇬🇷
Apart from SAR activities #Frontex officers are providing day to day support to 🇮🇹 authorities in registering and identifying migrants. In cooperation with the law enforcement agencies we also take measures against human trafficking & detection of criminal networks
Last week was very busy for our officers who support Italy as part of operation Themis.
Only in the past 4 days, about 3000 migrants reached 🇮🇹.
Together with the authorities, #Frontex helped save 916 persons in 12 search and rescue cases in the Central Mediterranean

We helped national authorities detect 19 falsified documents, stop 8 suspected smugglers and detect 300 kg of cocaine, 14400 packs of smuggled cigarettes and 2170 undeclared pills

We work together with national, EU and international partners to stop human traffickers and help victims.
During Joint Action Days last year, we
-identified 187 potential victims of human trafficking, including 92 minors
-arrested 175 suspected smugglers
As identifying potential victims of abuse is one of the key tasks of #Frontex border guards, we decided to spread the message.

Last week, #Frontex standing corps officers worked hard to crack down on cross-border crime. We detected 18 falsified documents, 3 stolen cars and three suspected smugglers. We also identified 80 000 pieces of undeclared cigarettes
