With more people living longer, access to long-term care is increasingly important.
The Banská Bystrica 🇸🇰 region, supported by #EUFunds, has risen to this challenge through social service centres; its older citizens are now being given the care they deserve.
In 2002 we set the Barcelona Targets, calling on EU Countries to provide childcare to:
🎯 33% of children under 3
🎯 90% of children from age 3 until mandatory school age
20 years later we want to be more ambitious!

The number of persons in need of long-term care will increase by 23.5%, reaching 38.1 million in 2050.
In this context, we are strengthening long-term care access to older people and persons with disabilities with our #EUCareStrategy.
This is our plan to leave no-one behind⤵️
