Good talks today in Stockholm on #SE accession to #NATO both in Riksdag & Foreign Ministry. Before such a crucial decision is taken by the HU Parliament, we need true dialogue & reestablish mutual respect. Faithful cooperation has to be back & critics should always rely on facts.

COM miscalculated what our dependency from the 11th biggest economy of the world is going to have on us. We need clear & detailed impact assessment on how the effect of sanctions against RU impacted EU's #inflation, drastic increase of #energyprices in each and every MS.

The impact of sanctions on RU was not as significant as predicted. GDP contracted only by 2.2% while moderate growth is expected in 2023. RU adopted to the new conditions, has striven to autarchy and redirected its trade mostly towards Asia.

Long awaited debate in @EP_Trade on the impact of Russian #sanctions. The primary aim of sanctions was to end the war. This has not been reached.

Sanctions are like slowly killing poison. Though, hopefully not the one (EU) dosing the poison will die first from the effects.

I am pleased that the words were followed by actions and the COM approved that the support by HU has been in line with EU competition rules. This invesment will boost jobs and competitiveness in the region around Göd in HU.

I asked @vestager at @EP_Economics in Feb about an important high tech green investment in HU, the #stateaid component of which has been waiting for COM’s approval since 2017. What happened during this 6 years? @vestager agreed with me that the procedure can't be that slow.

@EP_Trade debate on #GDIP: I stressed that we need to wrap up our #FTAs waiting in the pipeline, we have no more time to lose.

Commission should improve the communication about FTAs as there is a lot of misinformation pushing some MSs to block important FTAs.

In HU, the energy sector, banks, commercial multinationals & pharmaceutical companies are the winners of high #EnergyPrices. Thus they should continue to contribute more to the budget by paying the #WindfallTax this year.
