Long awaited debate in @EP_Trade on the impact of Russian . The primary aim of sanctions was to end the war. This has not been reached.

Sanctions are like slowly killing poison. Though, hopefully not the one (EU) dosing the poison will die first from the effects.

The impact of sanctions on RU was not as significant as predicted. GDP contracted only by 2.2% while moderate growth is expected in 2023. RU adopted to the new conditions, has striven to autarchy and redirected its trade mostly towards Asia.
