I fully agree with the concerns raised today at the seminar “The Success of the Nordic Corporate Governance Model”. The #duediligence directive proposal disproportionally interferes with the internal working of companies without any basis.
Strong cooperation & mutual respect is business as usual for the #VisegradGroup.
#V4 countries go back to normal: “Respecting our UA colleagues, we would like to return to the cooperation in this format,” @MorawieckiM announced. “All the remaining issues, in which we showed solidarity & support, will bind us again.”
He went on to declare that the EU will continue to supply military equipment to Ukraine in the future. Is it only me who sees discrepancy between Borrell's two sentences?

Despite the war, investments in Hungary🇭🇺 have increased. In 2022Q2, investments amounted to 3,500 billion HUF, an annual increase of 7.8 %. The domestic investment rate is close to 28 %, one of the highest in the EU 🇪🇺.

Instead, more & more often they are trying to give instructions to politicians. It would be a dangerous precedent to link approval of strategically important #FTAs to election outcomes. #Tradepolicy has to be conducted without conditionality on the colour of govts. at power.
I was appalled by today's @BorderlexEditor article title "EU hopes to revive trade agreement after #Brazil elections". Unfortunately, journalists & political analysts intend to forget their mission of presenting facts and analysing different scenarios.
We need a real pro-SME trade policy, that delivers results.
The COM at one hand is trying to support #SMEs while at the other hand burdens them with newer&newer administrative requirements: such as #duediligencedirective, the country-by-country reporting or the #CSRD (corporate sustainability directive).
It sheds light on the gap b/w COM's measures for SMEs & their effects on the ground. Despite the ➕ attempts, results are lagging behind: there's no sufficient coordination, the projects lack long-term continuity & visibility or expire too soon, moreover the imp. is struggling.
