In my intervention I stood up against the distorted competition in CEE markets, due to the obsolete ban on composit insurance undertakings. I am calling on the @eiopa_europa_eu to examine whether it is still valid to uphold this old ban.
Great discussion at today's @EP_Economics meeting on the revision of the #Solvency directive. A stable & resilient insurance sector is of crucial importance under the current economic circumstances.
We need rules that incentivate the sector to invest in the 🇪🇺 economy – something we desperately need. For this, we need to ensure clear & transparent rules, level playing filed & fair competition.
We support Hungarian families
Around 59 000 mothers having four or more children were exempt from paying personal income tax last year in Hungary.
The tax exemption left 25 billion HUF in mothers' pockets last year.
The cherries are harvested by hand by experienced local producers. As proof of its importance, the cherry has even been included in the municipality’s coat of arms. The Cherry Festival, held every June since 1996 in the village of Nagykörű, celebrates the ripening of cherries.
Good news to open the season: @EU_Commission approved a new protected geographical indication #PGI for Hungary: ‘Nagykörűi ropogós cseresznye’ 🍒 covers a variety of large sweet cherries grown in Nagykörű municipality.
Outstanding levels of #employment in #HU:
⬆️ Employment rate is continuously more than 74%.
👥 88.4% of people aged between 25-54 is working.
⬇️ Youth unemployment is below 10%.
This is why we continue building an #economy and #society that is based on work.
❗@matteosalvinimi has called #Hungary's #familypolicy an example to follow on Radio 24 in Italy.
HU is not only family-friendly, but we are also helping families through economic measures, family allowances and tax reduction.

A survey conducted among Hungarians, French, Germans, Italians & Brits by @MCC_Budapest found that the solution to poverty in all the above countries was seen in job creation rather than benefits.
