Spent the last two days in Ukraine with @EPPGroup delegation. Met with 🇺🇦 PM @Denys_Shmyhal, deputy PM @StefanishynaO, Chairman of Verkhovna Rada @r_stefanchuk, Mayor of Kyiv @Vitaliy_Klychko, members of @EPP family, currently working in the opposition.

A few reflections. 1/6

1. Such visits are very much needed.
2. The work of @europarl_en and its leadership is much appreciated. The leadership of the @EPPGroup as well.
3. 🇺🇦 nation is united and understands the importance not only of its own unity, but also of the unity of the West in this war. 2/6

4. Weapons, weapons, weapons. That is the most important thing.
5. EU membership. We need to start negotiations already this year. This is the position of @EPPGroup and it is in line with the expectations of the Ukrainians. 3/6

6. NATO membership. We must not be afraid to take the lead on Ukraine's NATO membership. Vilnius Summit must be a major step forward. Maybe not the final one, but a big one. 4/6

7. Visit to Babyn Jar Memorial was very special. Rabbi Raphael Rutman and Levi Matusuff (EU rep. of Jewish Communities) were very concrete with us - only weapons can stop this evil. The Rabbi said that if we don't stop these criminals, "Never again" will be just empty words. 5/6

8. A side note - many thanks to @Ukrzaliznytsia for great service.
Recently, many politicians have had the opportunity to travel via the Ukrainian railways. Everything is great! The Carpathian herbal tea is particularly tasty. Friendly attendants, caring border guards. 6/6
