@vonderleyen Presumably we will address the fact those being smuggled have nothing to go back to and so are willing to be smuggled accordingly. Why is there nothing? Droughts, floods, fire, crop destruction, conflicts over, mostly, oil ... the use of which leads to all of the above. Protecting Europe or the US from these smugglers can be about protecting our comfy selves from those harmed by our extractive practices that lead to climate shift and population displacement. I'm not seeing an upside to this smuggler fight in its current form.
