2005 - 2020 the number of farms in the EU declined by 4.6 mln (to 9.1 mln farms in 2020). More than half of the EU’s agricultural land (52%) was in 2020 managed by farms larger than 100 ha (around 4% of all farms), with small farms (below 5 ha) using only around 6% of total land.
