On Friday two criminals involved in the horrific murder of Daphne were found guilty and sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Sadly several journalists have been murdered elsewhere in the EU since 2017 without judicial sentencing.

It was an honour to address the @EU_CoR event on the 20 years of EU island regions’ policies during #EUWeekofRegions. I commend the work done so far in this regard but much more has to be done by the EU to recognise & address the specificities of island MS and insular regions.
