1/ As known, the @EU_Commission approved on Wednesday #Hungary's post-pandemic recovery plan but said #Budapest would not receive any payments - worth a total 5.8 billion euros - until it implements reforms to bolster judicial independence and tackle corruption.

3/ Hungary is losing an enourmous amount of money here, and it has to have consequences. And who else would be to blame here than the person who has been single-handedly ruling this country with a 2/3 supermajority that is allowing him literaly everything?

4/ In my opinion the person of the PM is the actual problem here. While (at least some of) his ministers were at least trying to show some efforts in #Brussels to make things better, #Fidesz majority in #Budapest watered down everything and kept on with their blackamiling policy.

5/ So, actually, it is up to #Fidesz now - what is more important to them: @PM_ViktorOrban or their homeland? And while I am not naive, I strongly believe that it is time to change the prime minister - for the sake of all of us.

2/ Separately, the Commission also asked 🇪🇺 governments to freeze 7.5 billion euros that 🇭🇺 would normally receive from the EU budget as part of funds transferred to poorer member states to equalise living standards across the bloc.
