@ishmaelmrhoney @TotalEnergies Ishmael I’m not expecting any money for this in opposite to all the pro EACOP guys 😀 Uganda holds 15% on EACOP. And you have a law that forbids the export of unprocessed raw material. EACOP is exactly this! EACOP will not solve energy poverty.

@ishmaelmrhoney @TotalEnergies Yeah @TotalEnergies is our child this is why we discipline it so it does not continue to support human rights violations in Uganda

@ishmaelmrhoney I’d love to shut down our oil companies. @TotalEnergies for example 😀

@pmuliisa21 @Parliament_Ug Just because you drive a big fat car doesn’t mean that I do. Also your argument is whataboutism. Why don’t you care about your brothers and sisters who suffer?

@mubarakUG Dear Mubarak, urgency resolutions are to draw attention and put pressure. This obviously was successful.
And indeed we hope that now enough people ask for justice in 🇺🇬. No more human rights violations!

@lilian_nyakuni @Parliament_Ug Google the names from point 6. I met them

@pmuliisa21 @SsekatawaAli Why don’t you care about your brothers and sisters who suffer from the project? Don’t you feel they have a right to be compensated fairly? Why do you collaborate with those who want to exploit your country?

The project is a danger! We cannot accept European companies like @TotalEnergies to be involved in these severe human rights violations.
And don’t you feel climate crisis kicking in?
Here you have my speech in front of the @europarl_en

So now that you saw it all, form your opinion and state where you agree or disagree.
I personally recommend to

Part 6 is the most important part in my view. Beside other we call on @TotalEnergies to halt the project until all disputes are solved. This is especially important because we don’t want any European company to be engaged in any kind of human rights violations.

Part 5 actually is addressed to ourselves since we are currently in the process of writing a corporate social due diligence directive

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/galleerie/status/157

In part 3 we want governments to compensate in a correct way and if necessary to update local law so future land acquisition processes won‘t create the same problems any more

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/galleerie/status/157

In part 2 we call 🇺🇬 and🇹🇿 to ensure that police and security forces respect human rights which they obviously did not do before. Furthermore we urge Ugandan gov. to reauthorise the 54 NGOs that have been closed or suspended for no reason.

Sooooo and with the NUMBERS, there comes the important part! This is where the 🇪🇺 Parliament expresses its opinion and calls other parties to get active in a certain way. First part focuses on the victims and asks the authorities to ensure their freedom

Point H reminds of all the victims of late, little or no compensation during the land acquisition process.
