Committees are at the core of Parliament’s work 🏛️
In addition to drafting and voting on positions, committees appoint negotiation teams with EU governments, organise hearings with experts, prepare reports and oversee other EU bodies.

Today we remember Altiero Spinelli, born on this day in 1907.
He dedicated his political career to the idea of a free and united Europe.
In 1984 the Parliament adopted a plan named after him which provided an inspiration for the creation of the EU and the European citizenship.
