Today, HR/VP @JosepBorrellF co-chaired the annual EU-@ASEAN Ministerial Meeting taking place in Cambodia, where he presented the following opening remarks and held several bilateral meetings.
2022 marks 45 years of EU-ASEAN partnership and of working together.
RT @JosepBorrellF: Meeting Vietnam FM @FMBuiThanhSon we discussed regional matters, focusing on increasing violence and recent executions in Myanmar, and our economic relations.
Also focused on EU-Vietnam cooperation on green transition & energy policy, as well as role of civil society therein.
RT @JosepBorrellF: Discussed with FM @AKAbdulMomen our cooperation and EU support for Bangladesh, green transition & climate finance, and impact of Russian aggression on global economy.
Also raised regional issues and commended the minister for Bangladesh' generosity shown for Rohingya refugees.
RT @JosepBorrellF: I commended FM Prak Sokhonn for Cambodia's role as ASEAN Chair and for the persistent efforts to address the worsening situation in Myanmar.
We will continue deepening our bilateral relations and partnership and working on various matters of regional and global stability.

The US and EU continue working hand in hand to push back against Russia's attack on Ukraine and the global system and economy.
We also discussed JCPOA Iran nuclear deal and how to preserve peace and stability across Taiwan Strait.

Our partnership covers cooperation on Indo-Pacific affairs and stability, climate change and energy policy, while also countering Russian disinformation on their attack against Ukraine.

bilateral relations and cooperation.
