That’s why it is my goal to increase mobility for EU long-term residents & contribute to winning the international race for talent.

As parliament’s chief negotiator on this law, I’m proposing strong changes to create full mobility!

If mobility is so beneficial, why aren’t there more migrants mobile in the EU?

Currently, even an EU permit does not really allow for switching countries.

On top of that, migrants face multiple barriers that EU citizens do not have to deal with 🚧

Creating mobility for migrants in the EU will have a positive economic benefit! 💰

A mere increase of 1.5% in mobile migrants would already result in an economic benefit of €69.4 million over 10 years. Imagine the results if mobility increases even more!

Labour migrants are already contributing to Europe’s economy and relieving labour shortages in our countries.

They’re often highly educated and essential in low-wage sectors

Let’s take a closer look at what we’re dealing with 🤓

Labour shortages are everywhere in Europe & they’re very costly.

People who can help deal with them aren’t really interested in coming to Europe right now. Instead, they choose to go to other locations…

However, Europe is not an attractive destination for migrants 🤔

Why? Multiple languages, closed national identities, and: there is no freedom of movement for migrants in Europe 🛂

If they could move freely, we all would benefit!

Germany suffers from bad leaders

Merkel
👉 Created supply dependence from a single country: Russia
👉 Created a demand dependence on a single country: China

Scholz
👉 Damages relations with Central & Eastern Europe & USA over Ukraine
👉 could not care less about the EU

🤷‍♂️

If this does not happen, if they are not sufficient, if the path for implementing them is unclear or too long this will be a massive fail!

We need to win back trust!
