@BenHendry1 It’s a reprieve for Big Noise Torry to go back to their original aim and to go out of their way to engage with the most vulnerable families living in Torry.
Hopefully, they can concentrate on outcome instead of expansion.

@BenHendry1 Having reviewed the educational outcomes of those who attend the programme in Torry against those who do not, and compared whole school population data with other schools with the similar profile, there is a lack of evidence of the impact of Big Noise Torry so far.

@livvyjohn It is exactly what I said in the chamber John. I strongly objected to the idea of Big Noise Torry to be spread across the city and asked them to concentrate on the community of Torry instead.

The Scottish Government is not giving the funding to Sistema to spread Big Noise Torry across the city, instead they are giving Sistema Scotland £1.5m.

@AlastairGossip @BenHendry1 When I met them, they said they wanted to extend the offer to the rest of the city, I disagreed then and I disagree now.
I made it clear when I first headed the new anti-poverty committee that we need to fund services that are proven to work to tackle poverty in our city.

@StephenSatCisco @sistemascotland @scotgov @sistema Your wife is right, we couldn’t find evidence that the attainment gap has narrowed between Torry and the rest of the city after years of funding to Sistema.
We also provide our own music service across the city, Sistema was supposed to be the extra for Torry to fill the gap.

@AlastairGossip @BenHendry1 Aberdeen Labour suggested not only to cut Sistema by 20% but also to reduce the delivery of the music service across Aberdeen to the level of the Scottish Government funding along with further massive cuts to education.

I am delighted that Sistema changed their mind after Wednesday and now appear to agree to not spread Big Noise Torry across the city.
