Re @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @northernmnkey @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell Why not? What's puzzling?

Re @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @northernmnkey @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell The site lists all the policies of all the parties in its survey and you go through the survey and pick your preferred policy on each area that interests you. At the end it tells you which party's policies you chose. The pie chart on the front is everyone's choices together.

Re @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @northernmnkey @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell Whatever it seems to say, it's never been the case that Labour advocated the end of private property or capitalism. That's arguably its problem. When it was a party for workers it perpetuated the class struggle because its raison d'être was conflict of worker vs employer.

Re @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @northernmnkey @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell Now its raison d'être is to perpetuate the subjection of the powerless by upholding the idea that being in full time wage earning employment under a capitalist system of wage labour is the only thing that makes you valuable or worthy of protection and sharing in social goods.

Re @northernmnkey @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell It's what you chose in 2019. And they do indeed spend your billions. Mainly on bogus contracts it seems. It's not fanciful. It's what a society like this costs, and you get to choose. That's democracy.

Re @barrymc2010 @gsoh31 That value was unearned income accumulated over the lifetime of the owner, that was never taxed, no?

Re @barrymc2010 @gsoh31 And many people have had to sell their home to pay for care many years before they get to leaving an estate.

Re @northernmnkey @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell Unlikely. Haven't tried. I suppose if you've got an electorate of which the majority are not owners of any real estate or shares, while a minority are grossly rich and ruining the world, it could be a winner. There's no fear of loss if you have everything but own nothing.

Re @northernmnkey @SimonPartridge @brokenbottleboy @dai_alectic @joycemcm @suzannezeedyk @nickduffell I recommend going on with the quiz and seeing whether you fall for Boris or Corbyn or neither.

"By 2023, the richest 50 families in the UK held more wealth than half of the UK population, comprising 33.5 million people. If the wealth of the super-rich continues to grow at the rate it has been, by 2035, the wealth of the richest 200 families will be larger than the whole UK… n.respublicae.eu/i/web/status/ t.co/DNqQEO7Ctx

Re @sea_wandereruk Yes, leadership in ensuring that people have a vision of things being *better*, *happier*, *freeer*, *cheaper*, *more comfortable*, *cleaner*, more brightly coloured, and helping them access it. But a highly funded lobby in the media & social media pushes the opposite nonsense.

Re @sea_wandereruk Yes the shifts in wealth between nations is the tricky challenge, especially in the UK which couldn't even manage to think at the European level, and it's easy to see how the far right is rising to stop any such thing. But I'm pretty sure that's fed by extreme inequality at home.

Re @sea_wandereruk Politicians who expect the contribution to come from those who can least afford it should be eliminated from our scene. We have to get people to see what they're doing and that there's an alternative where the burden falls on the actual culprits who have too much.
