The more you look at the more you see what it doesn't do for ordinary people.
Where's the rise in minimum wage?
Where's the inflation proofed ?
Where's the onshore renewables & insulation to bring down bills? Where's our public transport?

RT @OBR_UK: Living standards are expected to fall by 6% over this fiscal year and next as inflation outstrips income growth. This is less than the 7% fall we expected in November but still t…

RT @anandMenon1: I’m starting to understand why financial services pay rates are so high. The stress of knowing that if you totally screw up, the state will bail you out must be utterly unbearable.

@littlegreydog3 Should have invested in research and building storage systems for renewables, the energy of the 21st century. Nuclear is last century's solution. Thirty years ago it was already too late to start planning more of that. It's too costly, too slow, too destructive, too inflexible.

@ZackPolanski @TheGreenParty Oh and where are the nursery nurses, child minders and after school providers going to magic up their staff from? We don't actually have enough workers do we?

@littlegreydog3 @JWils60 Oops. Shall I add that drinking in pubs is healthier? Socialising across generations so young people learn to drink with good company and avoid binge drinking or getting plastered. There are many good reasons for encouraging social cohesion and supporting local hostelries.

RT @TheGreenParty: 📺 "I really wanted to see an inflation-matching pay rise for public sector workers and we didn't get that."

@Ashden_org And Environment and Equality and Empathy. They are not really interested in Employment. They're interested in Exploitation and Extortion.

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

@dandandan2310 Ah thank you. I was afraid it was probably bad in reality. I mean, it's a Tory budget and they are only interested in exploiting the work potential of the people they think they haven't yet extracted enough millions out of to feed their growth habit.

RT @NEF: "Back to work’ budget, growth budget... whatever you call it, this is ultimately a blah blah blah budget when it comes to climate."

This is a really bad move.
We need unconditional benefits to allow people the time to find jobs where they can thrive, to start a business or retrain.
We don't need more vulnerable people forced into unsavoury workplaces, doing rubbish jobs for low pay.
Slavery by another name.
RT @MartinSLewis: Universal credit 2m jobseekers will have more rigorous sanctions - if they dont take 'appropriate' work. So its going to be tougher for people who don't work and who gov…

@aDissentient No that's complete nonsense. The problem is not too much power. It's not enough capacity to deliver it to the people who need power.

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

@aDissentient No it's not about renewables. But the problem is not what we're spending but what they're not doing and how much renewable power is wasted as a result.

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

Good decision (finally!) to make a pint of beer cheaper in the pub than the supermarket. How long have we been asking for that? 🙄

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

Yes, because there's no help in for the people whose pay isn't keeping up with inflation, for those who pay for bus to work only to earn less in the day than they spent on transport and childcare.
We need rises and a rise in the .
RT @Steven_Swinford: Breaking:

OBR says that real living standards are still expected to fall by a cumulative 5.7% in 2022-23 and 2023-24

It’s better than previous forecasts but will still be th…

RT @carla_denyer: Bit rich of @Jeremy_Hunt to wax lyrical about how easy it is for disabled people to work using Zoom etc...

Why then did your Government ignore calls from disabled @TheGreenParty councillor Blossom Gottlieb & others, and ban online and hybrid council meetings? 🙄😤

It’s always the holes that leave you depressed after a Tory budget

🏭 No green industrial strategy
🏡 No home insulation programme
💷 No pay offer to end public-sector strikes
🚍 No increased investment in public transport

Another wasted opportunity

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/GreenPartyMol

@ZackPolanski @TheGreenParty But will they pay what it actually costs or for care at the times you actually need it? This is too little, too few hours, doesn't cover babies, and almost certainly paid too low for the wages of child care professionals.

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

RT @TheGreenParty: 🧑‍🍼 The Green Party would provide 35 hours for all children from the age of nine months.

✅ This would take the financial pressure off parents and remove one of the main barriers to returning to work if they want to.
