@mikkiangelono Over 17 million people live in a household with no car at all, including many of the least well off. Agree that we need to save the bus routes, but that really requires realistic central funding, not vulnerability to the whims of fuel prices.

If you work 7 days a week you can't also do gardening (unless your wife does that bit). But of course, in the 70s he didn't work 7 days a week down the mine. Trades Unions and socialist government had delivered improvements for workers in all work places. Anderson is a disgrace.
RT @LeeAndersonMP_: In the 70s working 7 days a week down t'pit my dad grew veg and kept chickens in our garden. That was our foodbank. My dad voted Tory for the 1st time in 2019. He will …

Don't be deceived by "falling inflation" reports.
For (i) inflation is still huge and prices are rising far faster than wages. And (ii) the fall is in fuel, restaurants and hotels. Useless for helping the poor. 😢
Food inflation is still *16.7%*!🙄
Get that down Rishi?

@Nordfolcian @MartijnFSnl @Tomorrtom @StuartAndrew On the contrary it's inclusive and puts in no barriers to democracy. The new system is anti democratic and can work only in a country that has a universal identity card system.

@Nordfolcian @etotheipiadd1 @StuartAndrew Where turnout is very low, making it lower is far worse. What's needed is a better turnout not voter suppression which makes elections unsafe and unrepresentative (far worse than the vanishingly small risk of a few fraudulent votes (for which there's no evidence).

@Nordfolcian @dctsystems @StuartAndrew The real problem is that we do know what the impact will be. It will make it harder for the young, the poor and those who struggle to get organised or plan ahead. It'll disadvantage women of ethnic minorities. Posh Tories who apply for postal votes & have passports will be fine.

Is there now a Conservative Friends of Raw Sewage group?

@mj_cotton @ThatLittleVo1ce @monsterFoodieUK @RayHepburn1 @StuartAndrew No, indeed it makes that more likely, since it will lead to more people using postal votes. Intimidation and coercion in the home is not easy to detect.

RT @DayMarketingUK: @notclosetolegal @catherinerowett @StuartAndrew Yet 3x as many cases of campaign fraud - what measures are being taken to combat that I wonder?

🐦🔗: n.respublicae.eu/catherinerowe

@Nordfolcian @StuartAndrew There's no evidence of this kind of fraud. It is a much smaller problem than voter exclusion and suppression (to which this policy will contribute massively). The current registration system is already leaving many people off the register.

@monsterFoodieUK @RayHepburn1 @StuartAndrew This is perfectly legitimate. They are not just entitled to be on both electoral rolls, but are encouraged to be on both (since elections can be called at any time and they need to have the right to vote without having to travel to do so).

@crypticcritics @monsterFoodieUK @RayHepburn1 @StuartAndrew Yes, it is not intended to stop multiple voting. What will it stop? It'll turn away people with a legitimate right to vote, but who don't happen to have any acceptable photo ID.

RT @RiffmanDale: @AlastairMorgan The 3rd most common factor among Leave voters was that they’d never owned a passport or left the UK - meanwhile, the majority of those who depend on FoM the most (Brits in the EU27) were denied the right to vote in the referendum.

Keir Starmer uses the Green Party slogan when he's trying to imitate the Green Party, whose commitment to supporting trade union rights, worker's rights and a Green New Deal is uncompromising and longstanding, and principled (not just one week a year).
